Website Development

Fast, accessible, standards-based builds you can maintain after we leave.

Website Development — representative deliverable
Overview

Website Development

The most expensive websites we are asked to rescue are the ones built on a stack the client cannot maintain — a bespoke framework nobody documented, a page builder that has become unsupported, forty plugins where three would do. The build decision should be governed by what you can run for five years, not by what is fashionable.

So we recommend based on the requirement. A marketing site with occasional content changes is often best served by clean HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap — fast, secure, essentially unbreakable, and hostable anywhere. A site your marketing team edits daily wants WordPress, configured minimally. An application wants Laravel, Node or React, and we will say so.

Whatever the stack, the standards are the same: semantic HTML, WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, Core Web Vitals in the green, working without JavaScript where that is reasonable, and documentation good enough that another developer can pick it up.

What you receive

Every item below is issued in your own template, with your layer conventions, title block and revision scheme.

Frequently asked

Whichever suits the requirement. WordPress when non-technical editors need to publish frequently. Plain HTML, CSS and Bootstrap when content is fairly stable — it is faster, more secure and cheaper to host. A framework when there is genuine application logic. We explain the trade-off rather than defaulting to whatever we prefer building.

Yes — WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard we build to and test against, with keyboard navigation and screen reader verification, not just an automated scan. Accessibility is a build requirement here, not an upsell.

You do, completely, in your own repository from the first commit. There is no proprietary framework, no licence dependency on us, and no hosting lock-in. You can take it to another developer whenever you want.

If you want it — updates, security patching, monitoring, small content and feature changes on a monthly retainer. It is genuinely optional; the handover documentation is written on the assumption that you might maintain it yourself.

Usually yes. We start with an audit of the code, hosting, performance and security position, then give you an honest view on whether it is worth maintaining or rebuilding. Sometimes the answer is that it is fine and you do not need us.
