About ASAV

A production partner built around one idea — that outsourced drawings should need fewer comments than in-house ones.

Our story

Fourteen years of learning what clients actually need

ASAV began in 2014 with four draughtsmen and two underfloor-heating contractors in the north of England who were losing tenders because their pipe layouts took a week to produce. We turned that week into two days. Word travelled, and by the following year we were producing solar proposal drawings for an installer in Arizona on the same model.

The pattern repeated across sectors. A survey firm needed LiDAR tiles classified faster than they could staff for. An MEP consultancy needed three CAD seats without three UK salaries. A land-records programme needed cadastral polygons digitised at a volume no local office could absorb. Each time, the answer was the same: a small dedicated team, trained on the client's standards, checked by someone senior before anything went out.

That is still the whole business. We have grown to a production floor of around a hundred and forty engineers, draughtsmen, GIS analysts and developers across nine practice areas, and we have added a technology group because clients kept asking us to build the tools around the drawings. But the operating model has not changed, and neither has the thing we are measured on — whether the deliverable comes back clean.

Mission

To give design and survey firms senior-quality production capacity they can switch on in days, at a cost that makes bidding more work worthwhile.

Vision

To be the offshore partner that clients introduce to their own clients — because the work is indistinguishable from in-house.

What we hold to

Six commitments we are willing to be held to

Written plainly, because vague values are impossible to fail.

Correct before fast

Speed matters, but a drawing that comes back for rework has cost you more than a slower one. Nothing ships without an independent check.

Say it early

If a survey is ambiguous or a scope has grown, you hear it that day. We do not absorb problems quietly and surface them at delivery.

Your data stays yours

NDA first, restricted access throughout, full IP assignment on completion, and no reuse of your files as portfolio material without written permission.

Own the mistake

Errors that originate with us are corrected free and immediately, and the checklist is updated so the same class of error cannot recur.

Keep the team stable

Client teams are fixed, not pooled. Continuity is the single biggest driver of quality in this work and we protect it deliberately.

Improve the process, not just the drawing

Recurring comments become checklist items. Repetitive tasks become scripts. Over a year, the same team should cost you less time.

Quality control

What our two-stage check actually involves

Every deliverable passes through the producer and then an independent senior checker who did not draw it. The checklist is project-specific and built with you.

  • Scope compliance — every item on the agreed deliverable list present, correctly named and correctly revisioned
  • Standards compliance — templates, title blocks, layers, line weights, text styles, sheet sizes and plot settings as issued by you
  • Technical review — calculations re-run independently, code and setback compliance verified against the governing authority's current rules
  • Geometric and spatial accuracy — coordinate system, datum, units, control fit and stated tolerance verified before issue
  • Annotation and dimensioning — completeness, legibility at plot scale, no overlaps, no orphaned leaders
  • Cross-discipline coordination — clash review where multiple services share a model, and consistency between plan, section and schedule
  • Attribute and data integrity — schema conformance, topology checks, null and domain validation on all GIS deliverables
  • Issue package — native plus PDF, correct folder structure, transmittal note listing revisions and any outstanding client queries
